GD Rutter

 This Auckland based manufacturing and importing company, in it’s third generation, is one of New Zealand’s leading suppliers to the hardware trade for door and cabinet hardware, while also providing wooden components to New Zealand’s furniture manufacturing market.

For GD Rutter, the need to move from their existing accounting system was sparked when it became apparent that not only was their DOS-based software difficult to maintain, but the vendor was withdrawing support without offering a Windows version. 

Along with two other software providers, Velocity Group was approached to propose a solution.  After meeting with the Managing Director to determine the business reuirements, the team knew that PRONTO-Xi would fit the bill. A key factor for GD Rutter was ensuring the system they installed would not only meet their immediate needs, but also be able to grow with their company in the long term, a strength that PRONTO-Xi is able to provide it’s users.

While system longevity was an issue, GD Rutter was also concerned with post-implementation service, quality of technical support and the ability to meet it’s customers IT demands well into the future. Velocity provided the confidence to GD Rutter that these concerns would be fully met.

PRONTO-Xi has been able to provide GD Rutter with a comprehensive inventory management system, and a facility to track shipment costs, a critical feature when operating an importing operation that requires long lead times.

Velocity is also working with GD Rutter on the second phase of implementation to increase the transparency of manufacturing costs within their in-house wood turning division.
